Years ago I watched my sons play video games and I just couldn’t keep up. I had more of a chance if I would play Zork like games or a similar dos game. More my speed.

Besides I’m kind of nostalgic (old) and like to reminisce. So when you play zork you can just pretend to go back in time, when games were less brutal. My preference is to use my imagination like reading a book and not have a bunch of images forced into my head as current video games can and do.
The word Zork was originally common hacker slang which referred to an unfinished product.
For a brief time the game was called Dungeon. But the originators of Zork were soon given notice for trademark violations by the publishers of none other than Dungeons and Dragons.

Zork had become the colossal cave adventure of it’s day. Seeking wealth and adventure, the player becomes an adventurer with no name. He enters a dangerous land. The dangerous land is an ancient ruin deep down underground.
Like reading a book their are no graphics. Only your imagination and your fingertips to the keyboard determine the direction of your adventure.
Follow clues such as “You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.”
Then theirs a mailbox and you open it by logically typing “open mailbox”. The open mailbox reveals a leaflet. The leaflet says “WELCOME TO ZORK! Zork is a game of adventure, danger, and low cunning. In it you will explore some of the most amazing territory ever seen by mortals”.
